Cauble Awarded 800 Damages in Express Co Case
F. P. Cauble of High Point received 800 damages from a Superior court jury in Greensboro after a suit against the American Railway Express Company. The trial, begun Wednesday afternoon, concluded late Wednesday with Cauble, represented by John N. Wilson and J. M. Hedgecock, alleging the carrier damaged a transporting adding machine. Col. John A. Barringer of Greensboro defended for the company.

Presbyterans Support Missionary to the Orient
First Presbyterian church members voted unanimously to support a missionary in the foreign field. Rev. Smythe of South Carolina, Harvard graduate, will receive local backing as the congregation commits to sending funds totaling 1350 dollars. The decision followed a sermon by Egbert Watson Smith of Nashville after six Presbyterians heard him describe eight months in the mission field. Wilbur Stamey of Greensboro is due in the city Monday.

Storekeeper Robbed by Masked Men at Night
C White, a Black grocery merchant, says two masked men entered his town store about 9 15 Saturday night. One held him at bay while the other opened the cash register taking around 155 dollars. White, alone in the store, described the robbers as medium height men with faces hidden by handkerchiefs caps and burnt cork disguises. He believes the suspects were white men attempting to conceal their identities. The larceny prompted a police report and inquiry.

High Point Man Held on Liquor Indictment
High Point market man William Gurley was arrested by federal and local officers on a Saturday afternoon for possessing about seven gallons of whisky. Gurley was indicted before Commissioner Brown and held in federal custody on a $500 bond. Officers recovered half and two gallon canisters of liquor from his home and barn, and Gurley admitted selling small quantities to pay debts but pledged to quit the illegal business.

Lutheran Synods May Merge In Salisbury March 2

Garage Fire Damages Cars at National Motor Co
Fire shortly after 10 o clock Saturday night damaged two automobiles in the garage of the National Motor Company on East High Street. The blaze started on the back seat of a Lexington car from a battery and before extinguished a Patterson vehicle also ignited. The building sustained little damage as prompt fighting equipment prevented total destruction.
