High Point organizes mass meeting at 7:30 PM in the high school auditorium to press its claim for the proposed Methodist Protestant college. The city pledges strong support with labor groups backing the bid and promises speeches from local committees.
Dr W L Jackson and Dr D A Stanton returned from Spartanburg South Carolina where the State medical convention closed a two day session Thursday night. The meeting was described as enthusiastic and enjoyable with entertainments planned by local citizens. Nearly 250 physicians attended the event representing the Carolinas and Virginia with the next meeting planned in the region.
In Recorder's Court Monday Roy Ingram and M N Russell were found guilty of larceny from Gilmers store. Ingram fined 100 dollars and costs while Russell charged 25 dollars plus costs. William Morgan guilty of speeding and unnecessary noise with a automobile. W G Kirkman and F G Watson pleaded guilty to city trade ordinance violations and paid half costs. C C Coggins arraigned on forgery and bound over to Guilford Superior Court by Judge Kukman.
Bishop A W W Darlington of Huntington arrived in High Port and spoke at Wesley Memorial Methodist Episcopal church at 7 30 PM. The visit focused on a gathering with pastors and official boards of three city churches to foster the educational campaign of the Methodist Episcopal Church South.

They observe sprouts and roots across ears, finding three ears with poor growth and two with weak sprouts, confirming only some kernels are suitable for seed. Sam offers to sell tested seed at five dollars a bushel, and Mr. Hill orders five bushels.

Dewey Hoffman son of Mr and Mrs Harry Hoffman of South Main Street wins the Curtis Pentathlon with 11 points from a field of 20 in a Philadelphia club meet. He earns the best all around athlete honors and gains national attention with his performance.
Greensboro council No 296 of United Commercial Travelers with more than 450 members plans to list boarding houses willing to host two or more travelers to press for lower hotel and cafe rates. They aim to form a U C T home and hotel in Greensboro and may publish a boarding house list for nationwide use.
Miss Ritchie Johnson of High Point visited Trinity friends and returned on the early Monday train. Mrs. Sarah White of Gold Hill and Mrs. Jane Weeks, lately indisposed, are in town. An effort to improve Main Street is under way as Rev. Plyler travels to Ashboro for quarterly services. An oyster supper funded the new church but weather slows progress.
