The state convention of Elks meets in Greensboro June 25-26 and will be hosted by High Point Lodge No. 1155 at a barbecue and Brunswick stew June 26 at Hayworth mineral springs near the city. About 1,000 brothers are expected. local Elks join Greensboro in entertaining the visitors. In 1918 Elks shared hosting with Greensboro but plans were shelved due to unsettled conditions.

No Advance Poll Tax Raised In City Says Enterprise

Willis Weavil died at his home near Bethany May 31 after two years of poor health. paralysis caused death. He was 46, survived by wife, eight children, two brothers and four sisters.
