Death of Major J M Sechrest Aged High Point Native
Major J M Sechrest died at his home Wednesday after several weeks illness from cancer on his hand. Born in 1844 he was the oldest native High Point citizen. Survived by two sons two daughters and four brothers. Civil War veteran active in High Point Camp of Veterans he organized. Member of M P Church since youth. Funeral Thursday at 3 p m at M P Church conducted by Rev A G Dixon. Charlotte June 11.
