The Leonard Beavans Stamey company launches a seven day July clearance starting Saturday July 19. London’s Reliable features a page ad in this issue inviting readers to come and be convinced by the season end sale.
High Point mourns the death of J H Millis at 6 am in Hiddenite where he sought health. Born July 23 1849 on the Millis farm he married Cornelia A Walker March 2 1876 and leaves four children. A leading merchant and influential citizen his death ends a life of benevolence and business leadership with funeral services at Washington Street M E church at 4 pm conducted by the Masons.
The Guilford County Board of Education appointed 167 committeemen for county schools. The list names appointees and addresses for Friendship township Union Hill Jamestown Oak Shade Hull Top Oak Ridge Stokesdale Bethel Winding Hill Deep River Colfax County Line Deep River Delarie Mechanicsville Welch Oak Hill Springfield and Mt. Pleasant schools with route and box details for many.
Route 2 in Liberty and Gibsonville area lists include W M Hanner and Kimesville. G M Amick on Route 2 Liberty. Gibsonville school staff includes J W Boring LT Barber Dr G E Jordan J W Burke and Lee Wharton in Gibsonville.
Saturday July 26 at 9 am a sale of household and personal property will be held at the late L A Raper home five miles north of the city. D R Raper acts as agent and will sell to the highest bidder.
