The Fourth of July in High Point's Sixth District ended quietly with a Red Men procession and a torchlit march to the Wigwam on North Main Street after a big dinner at Carrick Grove. Officers were elected, four hundred delegates gathered from numerous towns, and next district meeting is set for Burlington on November 8.
Sunday morning Bishop John C Kilgo preached the dedicatory sermon at South Main Street M Church to an overflow audience. That night he spoke again at Washington Street M E Church. Dr Kilgo is a leading SM Church visitor to the city. Sunday morning Rev C P Cobl was installed as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church with Dr Neal L Anderson delivering the sermon.
C. F. Fox, a young white man from High Point, was convicted in municipal court on assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon after the Bull Pen Fourth of July shooting. He was fined $100 plus costs in each case, and ordered to pay all expenses for the wounded man, totaling $251.90.

Sunday evening report from Stoneville and Greensboro details the fatal shooting of James Pratt by his son in law Tom Campbell with a pistol. Pratt died Monday morning in a Greensboro hospital and his body was returned to Stoneville for burial Monday night.
