At a Monday meeting the School Board decided to ask the legislature for the privilege to vote on an additional $50,000 for school purposes to meet rapidly rising needs. They also plan to change the charter to set a maximum tax rate at 50 cents and consider compulsory education law enforcement.
Local talent staged an interrupted proposal at the auditorium to a good crowd. The Chicago Ladies Orchestra will perform Friday night under the Lyceum Course, attracting theatre goers to the venue.
