The Review records the death of Abram Cook at his North Main Street home in Frieday afternoon after a short illness from heart trouble. He was 53 and deeply involved in High Point’s business scene, recently in the lumber trade. His wife receives broad sympathy. Remains were sent to St Louis on No 11 for interment and will be cremated there by request.

Johnson Denied Lodging in Havana Amid Willard Fight Talk
In Havana on February 22 Jack Johnson the famed pugilist and his party including wife and brother registered at a hotel but were asked to leave within minutes.
