Relatives and neighbors gather at Whittaker's Church near Pilot Mountain for the funeral of Mrs. Sarah Dodson, who died August 6 after an illness. Survived by five children, a sister, five brothers, and numerous relatives, she was a Baptist member and wife of J Ed Dodson. The service, conducted by Rev J W Lamb, featured hymns and scripture, with a large crowd from Pilot Mountain area paying respects.

Three months ago the funeral services were held over Mrs. Claude Jones niece of Mrs Dodson. The ceremony occurred on a hilltop graveyard surrounded by laurel and ivy. Attendees traveled from High Point Winston Ramseur Galax Richmond Eustis Walnut Cove Stokesdale Pilot Mountain and Mattocks among others. Most left that afternoon for home.

Sunday an auto crash on Archdale road left Mrs Will Spencer and two boys, Apple and Hayworth, injured. Spencer swerved to pass an oncoming car, Apple, causing a head on collision. Mrs Spencer suffered deep facial and knee lacerations. Apple and Hayworth were cut. Spencer and his young child were unharmed.

Clemens Avery Bodenhamer died at his Boulevard home Monday after a lingering illness. Born October 1, 1896 in High Point, he lived in this city most of his life. He served several months in World War I. He was survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Boddenhamer. Funeral at North Main Street Methodist Protestant church Wednesday at 3 PM, Rev. George R. Brown officiating. Interment in Oakwood cemetery.

Monument proposed for Bankhead Highway battle site
At the Bankhead National Highway Association convention in Greensboro in 1921 the Woman's Commission urged a monument on the Alamance County battlefield where General Light Horse Harry Lee defeated Tory forces. New Benches on City Lot Ready
Benches for public use around the new band stand have been placed. Twenty five iron framed benches from Community Service seat five each. Six wooden benches for band use were installed by Carpenters Local Union No. 2235, with twelve more wooden benches added by the local carpenters and joiners union. Some benches are sturdy but require in service reinforcement. Additional benches will be added soon to accommodate many concertgoers.

Show Models of Cotton Warehouses at State Farmers’ Convention
Model cotton warehouses will be exhibited at Rabiz August 30 to September 1. Five models range from inexpensive frame buildings to brick and concrete structures, each built to scale. Fragment models will detail construction. All models include sprinkler systems to reduce insurance rates and may operate in demonstration. Loading platforms and railroad sidings accompany the displays to give builders construction information for real warehouses.
