Funeral Services For Mrs Carr Held
Funeral services for Harriet Amelia Carr were held Sunday afternoon at 4 30 at the home with Rev W A Lambeth and Rev Thomas L Trott of St Mary's Episcopal Church officiating. She died Saturday morning at 4 o'clock at her daughter's home on South Main Street. The funeral was at the residence followed by interment in Oakwood cemetery. A large number attended.

Died Sunday Lucile Williams Eight-Year-Old
Lucile Williams eight year old daughter of Mr and Mrs B L Williams of 507 West Green street died Sunday morning after a ten day illness of pneumonia. Funeral held Monday afternoon at 3 30 at English Street Holiness Tabernacle conducted by Rev Edward Suites. Interment followed in Oak Wood Cemetery.

Funeral for Sergeant Gilbert White Draws Hundreds
Several hundred people gathered in the college chapel at Trinity Sunday afternoon for the funeral of Sergeant Gilbert White son of Mr and Mrs D White killed in France. Rev J E Cosley led the service with local Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts in attendance. Interment followed at Trinity. White was killed in France on September 29 1918.

Mrs Phoebe Perdue aged 84 died Friday night at her city home after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 O clock from her home. Irene Rowe two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Rowe of 803 East Green Street died after being struck by a trolley car of the North Carolina Public Service company. The accident occurred Saturday afternoon in Guilford General Hospital.

Oratory Contest Draws Six NC Colleges in City
Six North Carolina colleges were represented in the Beace Oratorical contest staged Friday night in the city high school auditorium at 8 30 o clock. In High Point L. S. Ford sued Dr W J McAnally for assault and malicious prosecution seeking about 22100. A jury in the Superior Court awarded Ford 8104 with 25 for the assault and 3079 for the malicious prosecution. The trial consumed most of Friday and Ford had been jailed briefly after a confrontation over materials Ford rented for a photographer’s gallery. Both men reside in High Point.
