J. C. Clodfelter, 71, well known High Pointer resident, died Sunday night after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, three sons, and four daughters. Funeral services were Tuesday at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. J. M. Hilliard, with interment in Oakwood cemetery.

Stolen Ford Touring Car Unrecovered in Front of Church

Narrow Escape From Death At Laundry Explosion
A gasoline dry cleaning machine exploded at High L Ste Easley No 203 East Washington street causing extensive damage to the building and several suits of clothes. Sartain was injured in the leg and taken to Guilford General Hospital while Mr Crowder suffered facial injuries. The blast shattered plate glass and alarmed the Northside fire station as bystanders witnessed the dramatic incident.

High Point Sells Bonds Monday
Bids for 175000 dollars in High Point six percent funding bonds were opened Monday and sold to a Wilmington firm from New Forest bidders at a premium of 175 dollars. Four bids were received from Mayer and Company of Cincinnati Prudden and Company of Toledo and another Cincinnati firm. Bruce Craven of Trinity represented the successful bidders and the price paid was a record breaker.

Unique Still Seized Four Miles From City by Deputies
