Fire destroys High Point Furniture Co main building

This morning at 4 o clock the High Point Furniture Company main building burned to a total loss within an hour. Most machinery and in process furniture were destroyed along with nearby lumber. Origin unknown. The plant owned by M J Wrenn with $150000 capital can resume soon due to brick finishing rooms surviving.

D. H. Milton informs voters in High Point that he cannot serve as alderman due to time demands and asks supporters to replace him on the ticket while thanking them for their consideration and pledging ongoing support for the city’s progressive movement.

Murder Mystery as Infant Found Dead in City

A well developed male infant was found dead near a southern city septic tank on Sunday afternoon. An autopsy confirmed life at birth, suggesting a physician attended the birth. The case remains a mystery whether the birth occurred in High Point or elsewhere and if the infant was murdered or parentally abandoned.
