Outdoor Masses mark Feast of the Assumption at two parishes
Two local parishes held outdoor Masses on August 15 for the Feast of the Assumption. Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary St Stephen held a noontime service on Summit Street with an ornate statue of the Blessed Virgin and a Pilgrimage to Italy noted. Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary hosted an 7 pm Mass at the Louis Valentino Pier with flags, a blue white statue, and a tribute to Firefighter Louis Valentino.
