Red Hook Little League Opens Season After Lead Cleanup
The Red Hook Little League season began with a ceremonial opening on April 28 featuring speeches, national anthem, and first pitches by local officials. Two exhibition games followed as Hynes' Heroes beat the Defenders and Southern Trucking defeated Gibbs' Brooklyn Youth Association Royals. The season faced earlier lead contamination at four fields. Parks Department and Justice Center crews reorganized schedules to start on time.
