Justice Center expands ADP pilot with 16 17 year olds from Brooklyn
The Red Hook Community Justice Center seeks a fourth social worker as the Adolescent Diversion Parts program sends 16 and 17 year old offenders from across Brooklyn to the center for rehabilitative services. The ACP pilot, initiated by the Center for Court Administration, began earlier this year and represents a shift to a problem solving approach with judges, defense attorneys, prosecutors and social workers aiming to reduce recidivism. Observations of the process are welcome at the Brooklyn Criminal Courthouse on Wednesdays from 2 to 5 PM in the STEP courtroom at 120 Schermerhorn Street.
