About 100 locals and business owners gathered at 501 Union Street for Take Back Gowanus as a counter to Brad Lander’s Bridging Gowanus. Speaker Joseph Alexiou urged democratic, transparent processes while criticizing perceived bias and residential upzoning aims amid canal cleanup talks. Natalie Loney and Sean Gannet led the session outlining three-part structure for public input and synthesis.
