Unhappy Teamsters complain of contract breaches at Phoenix Beverages
Four Teamster truck drivers in Red Hook allege Phoenix Beverages moved to Pier 7 and Pier 11 in 2010 and imposes long hours without overtime pay. They claim 8 hour route blocks, 32 hour weeks for some, and threats of suspension for overtime refusals. Union fears grow as several shop stewards are said to have been fired. Phoenix says contracts are followed and disputes are limited to a few disgruntled employees.
