Red Hook NY Rising committee weighing Sandy projects
A January 6 NY Rising Red Hook meeting at PS 15 reviewed about 100 Sandy related projects led by Gita Nandan and Kate Collignon. The group narrowed to five to ten options, split into Infrastructure Housing Economic Development and Social Resiliency with 3 working groups and a $3 million Red Hook allocation. Governor Cuomo followed with a $16.7 billion Sandy plan and $200 million for a Red Hook flood system, while ideas included business recovery incentives and an emergency information clearinghouse.
