Gowanus Canal Conservancy Shapes Watershed Projects
The Gowanus Canal Conservancy GCC advances a watershed based plan for Gowanus Carroll Gardens Cobble Hill Park Slope and Red Hook with composting tree planting and windrow methods. Executive Director Hans Hesselein leads a broad volunteer network to clean the canal and curb runoff while coordinating with DEP Build It Green NYC and the Gowanus Alliance. Upcoming events include a Compost Windrow Build and Clean and Green on August 17.
