Weather bulletin notes scattered rain totals from 0.0 to 0.42 inch across Potter and surrounding areas during two hours as the state records a generally dry week ending September 26. Temperature swings were sharp with unseasonably cold last day. corn harvest may be safe for cribbing while sorghum is being harvested and pastures remain dry. Sandhill range curing well.
HR A Fricke of Wachob Bender of Omaha will arrive in Potter to deliver the village’s old bonds to board members. The sale refunded bonds at three and a quarter percent, lower than the average market rate by about one percent since the month began. Bond experts call the timing very favorable.
Gene Monfeld son of Mr and Mrs Berna Monfeld has accepted a position at Gibson Motor Company in Sidney, according to a family informant.
The annual rally day and promotion for Sunday school members will be held at the church next Sunday, inviting families to join and participate in the program and activities.

James H. Campbell announces precinct meetings across Cheyenne County to explain the 1940 program and elect precinct committeemen and county convention delegates. Attendance in each precinct is required to vote, with dates listed from October 2 to October 13 at various locations.
The Potter Community Boosters club will meet October 4 at 6 45 PM at Stines cafe. Wm Hagemeister will show home made motion pictures including Potter Days footage and Bouwder dam construction reels and ranch branding in western Nebraska. The program will last about an hour with a meal and club business.
Pastor Co R Tanner notes Rally Day on October 1 with a child led program at 11 o clock. The official board met Tuesday to plan this year and decided evening services will be occasional. Rally Sunday also marks Loyalty Day. members and friends urged to attend.

The event honored the firefighters for their recent work extinguishing a fire on an express train as it pulled into town. The Potter Coyotes defeated St. Patricks 33 to 14 in their conference opener. Coach Barrett has a fast six likely to spark a strong season. They travel to Ledge Pole this Friday with Broadwater visiting next Friday.
Supt A B Connell holds a large block of tickets for the 1 45 matinee of the U S Navy band at Sidney on October 11 priced 75 cents for adults and 35 cents for children. Some tickets already sold and unsold stocks to be returned next week. Tickets for 3 45 and evening shows not on sale in Potter.
News reached here of the sudden death of Clarence Teneyck at Goldendale Washington on September 24 1939 after a heart attack He was 58 born April 11 1881 and had lived in Potter area about 20 years He left for Washington in 1931 and made his home there He was a brother of Mrs Warren Pontious and of David and Gene Teneyck He is survived by relatives in Potter with funeral details unavailable at this time.

Meagre but authentic information reports Mrs. L Y Miner killed in a Saturday September 16 automobile crash in California. The Miner family lived in Port beforehand and had resided there many years before moving to California.
Mrs Morris Challburg and her brothers Leonard and Marvin Peterson drove to Vermillon Maryland on Tuesday to see Mr and Mrs Ernest Peterson Marvin will stay in Vermillon while Challburg and Leonard return to Potters Sunday
Mr and Mrs Gene Binning of Kimball and Mrs Kenneth Binnie with daughter Barbara of Lincoln were guests at the home of Mrs Iva Thayer last Sunday. The party included friendly greetings and social visits during a pleasant afternoon gathering.
