Woman's Club Meeting Near Potter on October Friday

American Legion Masque Ball Planned by Potter Post

Potter Post No. 291 American Legion will sponsor a masque ball on Saturday evening October 29 in the local hall. The group is arranging a fun event for all attendees with Van Gorder's orchestra providing music. Tickets are priced at $1.

Public School Literary Society Plans Revival and Events

The Public School Literary Society will revive on Friday night October 27 to entertain, aid the library, and fund expenses with a small charge for children and adults. The first meeting features Ada Brady, a debate on wage arbitration, and readings by students, with outside participation hoped for in future programs. The society will meet every three weeks, reorganize, and adjourn after planned activities.

Two More Farm Sales Advertised This Week

Two sales are slated around Potter. On October 27 Chris J. P. Ogard will sell live stock farm machinery and household goods at half a mile west of Potter with roast ox and baked beans for early buyers. On November 2 H. L. Challburg will sell horses cattle machinery and household goods and auction a half section of land five miles west of Potter. Schwartz Hite auctioneers promote these events with bills printed in the Review office.

Sulphur Bath Sanitarium Promotes Rheumatism Relief

Dr Crusen's Sulphur Bath Sanitarium in Sidney Nebraska advertises a treatment for rheumatism neuritis and kidney diseases claiming the bath “boils the poison out of the system” relieves sore muscles and lightens the kidney load. Prices are described as reasonable with patients under medical care urged to write for prices and appointments.

Governor McKelvie Declares November 4 Fire Prevention Day

Nebraska residents are urged to observe fire prevention on November 4 as a cleanup day. Governor McKelvie asks schools, city and village officials, and fire departments to join in reducing fire hazards. Fire Chief Karl Fricke leads efforts to educate and prevent fires by checking stoves, wiring, and other risk factors, noting most fires stem from carelessness. Schools will observe the day.

Revival of Old Literary Society Promoted by Library Group

The library association and school faculty plan to revive the old literary society with Friday evening entertainments at the schoolhouse, charging 10 cents for adults and 5 cents for children. Proceeds fund new books and expenses as a drive to collect free books from supporters, aiming for 1000 volumes by Christmas. An initial program will appear elsewhere. officers to be elected after good attendance.

Respected Dykeman Family Leaves Potter for Fremont Visit

Mr and Mrs Allen Dykeman and their children departed for Fremont Nebraska at the start of the week to visit and consider a permanent location. They recently sold all livestock and farm equipment and rented their farm to Hugh Kenoyer. The sale was among the most successful in the region and Gilbert accompanied them.

Young Couple Steal March On Their Friends

On October 15 1921 Potter Kansas saw two respected locals Chas Lawson and Reta James wed in Sidney at 7 30 pm Rev Kahse officiating in a simple private ceremony. They traveled to Salt Lake City for their honey moon and plan to return to Potter where Lawson is a Union Pacific agent and James has been a bookkeeper.

The American Legion seeks public input on celebrating Armistice Day November 11 1921. Nebraska will issue service certificates to World War veterans and the Legion asks ex soldiers sailors and marines to respond via L B Hager or H Stevens.

Giants Win World Series. New York Captures Championship

Dalton Delegate reports strong interest over the World Series games in New York. The Giants, National League, won 1 to 0 with Nehf beating Hoyt in a pitchers’ duel. It marks the Giants fifth victory and the world title unless Potter can spoil the outcome.
