The Lutheran congregation led by Dr. W. T. Kahse will inaugurate a new plan of Sunday services at Potter church next Sunday with Sunday school at 9 00 a m and worship and sermon at 10 00 a m The Potter church has grown in prosperity and faith under Dr Kahse and will now offer weekly services emphasizing regular attendance.
The Federated Churches of Bayard Nebraska announce the Gift of God pageant to run June 11 12 14 and 18 1935 at 8 pm in the Chimney Rock shadow Dr L H Kraub author and director from Lexington Nebraska has picked the cast Rev Harold Nye leads the local choir and organizers The pageant is not commercial and admission is free The show has drawn about 20000 spectators in a single season indicating strong popularity

A M Leafdale describes a Nebraska delegation of 62 delegates traveling by two chartered buses from Lincoln to Washington May 11 to 14 1933. They met Farm Bureau officials heard about the AAA program in Washington and at Raleigh hotel and White House. They met congressmen and toured the capital including Mt. Vernon and Arlington before returning to Nebraska.
Notice asks children to attend M. E. church parlors on Saturday June 1 at 2 pm to rehearse for the Childrens Day program. Parts will be allocated to children without roles and parents are asked to ensure timely attendance.
The annual meeting of the Potter Cooperative Grain Company will be held in the elevator office Saturday evening at 8:00 o'clock on June 1. J. W. Shorthill of Omaha will speak on matters of concern. E. R. Hadley president and A. M. Leafdales secretary treasurer.
After a rough start the Bear Cats rallied to defeat the 76th Field Artillery team of Ft. Warren 14 to 7. Potter led Potter with key hits while Reichstein Adams Bolen Fister and Jacobson homered and multiple players added baserunners. Time was 2 hours 46 minutes with 12 hits and 5 errors per side. Next Sunday the Bear Cats travel to Big Springs for league action.
The American Legion and Auxiliary sponsor a Memorial Day program on Thursday May 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the M. E church followed by a short ritual at the municipal cemetery in memory of the unknown soldier and the many fallen. The public is invited to both services.
I and my family appreciate the friendly help during my protracted illness, cheerful visits, and other ministrations. Kimball city council, after reviewing electric current sources, advertised for bids on a 375 hp diesel engine. McIntosh & Seymour Co won with 24,706.00 dollars. Fairbanks was next at 24,953.00. McIntosh& Seymour also contracted to rebuild the 600 hp engine for 14,666.00 dollars. Plans for a transmission line from the government line at Gering were discussed.
About 50 to 100 observers gathered at the depot Tuesday afternoon as the Union Pacific seven coach zip train attempted to pass. It traveled at 35 to 40 miles an hour, hindered by wet rails from recent rains or possible motor trouble. Earlier plans to detour via Gering due to washouts at Ogallala were scrapped, and the train resumed along the main line around 5 p.m.

In Potter precinct farmers vote 87 for and 2 against continuing the federal wheat allotment after the current year. The nationwide poll shows a 4 to 1 majority in favor. Precinct tally lists Signers: Yes 80 No 2 Non Signers: Yes 7 No 0.
Clifford Herboldsheimer of Potter has been named an alternate for one of 250 regents scholarships at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. The awards, worth about 70 dollars, go to high school seniors from a April contest. 1229 students from 380 Nebraska high schools competed, the largest turnout yet. Phillip Southwick of Friend had the top score and will enter Nebraska next fall in chemical engineering. Helen Larson of Mead and Althadene Christenson of Harvard tied for second. Halvard Moyer of Chadron took third. Examinations covered English algebra and at least three other subjects. Alternates may receive scholarships if winners don’t claim all 250. The scholarship covers the first semester and may be renewed.
Ray Johnson shows satisfactory progress this week while recuperating from thyroid surgery at a Cheyenne hospital. The Pang group gathered recently and sent best wishes with flowers.

A. J. Chideter of Encampment Wyoming paid 2.00 for a license to feel ice. Last month his sales tax totaled 0.27, with 0.50 notary, 0.06 money order and 0.03 postage to remit to the state. His customers paid 2 percent and he dug up the remaining 8 percent.
Alliance hosts a Denver-Black Hills highway association gathering to advance federalization. Hart Mallory, Alliance city manager, says state engineer Tilley in Lincoln agrees the project will proceed. Delegations from South Dakota, Nebraska and Colorado attend.
The Morrill county payroll for the week ending May 13 shows 1 399 40 dollars in FERA funds. Salaries for workers producing fuel food and other relief commodities totaled 1 000 dollars. The claim that white collar workers earn as much as field laborers appears nearly supported by this story.
The remains of Pinkey W. Sublette, for whom Sublette County is named, are ordered returned to Sublette County Wyoming for burial. His bones were seized in 1897 by court order issued to attorney Thomas Crews and taken to St Louis as corpus delicti in a real estate dispute. The case ended in 1926 and the bones have remained under circuit clerk custody.
