Rain gauge at Citizens State Bank records two-fifths inch Tue night ending near midnight. Across the county another heavy rain Wed afternoon and evening brought total rainfall to one inch before morning. The slow fall with a light wind soaked in all water, prompting wonder about dry-season predictions.
The Village Board of Trustees of Potter Nebraska met in regular session at 8 p m May 23 1921. Present were Chairman Woten and trustees Francis and Larsen. Minutes approved. Bills allowed including labor and supplies for the town, pool hall license discussed, section 9 of Chapter 27 cited on water sharing, meeting adjourned.
A Denver minister swapped with a city paper editor for a day and imposed drastic changes. Headlines shrank, divorce stories were barred, and a heavy front page editorial ran, yet the piece notes such edits may hurt circulation and advertising. The piece stresses teamwork between news and business as the key to a successful newspaper.
A list of titles donated to the library over the past week includes Lady of the South and many classics by Mrs. H W Struble. Also entries from Mrs. R A Bartlett such as Seven Gables and History of England. The note invites further donations and asks who will be next as shelving needs grow.

Rev C O Troy invites all veterans to a memorial service on May 29 at 11 a m in the M E church. American Legion officers urge Legion members and other World War veterans to meet at Biggs hall at 10 30 a m to march in formation to the church. Uniforms not required. L R Hager Adjutant.
The Bearcats won the second game of the series on Sunday by defeating the Sidney aggregation on their home grounds with a 3 to 2 score. Potter’s Biggs and Pritchard led offensive and pitching duties as a large Potter crowd supported the team in Western Nebraska. Box score notes include Potter 3 runs in first inning and Sidney 1 in fourth and 1 in seventh. Pritchard struck out 11 with no walks.
In Stratton Nebraska on May 23 Enders suffered a 50 to 5 loss after Stratton racked up 50 runs and 38 hits. Enders committed 19 errors while managing five runs. Strikeouts and fielding miscues shaped the lopsided score in a lengthy nine innings.

Rev T Potter Bennett of Sidney will lecture at the M and Church next Monday May 30 with a short Potter Concert Band program at the church and again at the cemetery service to follow.

A practice game between first and second ball teams was held last Sunday. Leonard family depart Tuesday for Lincoln. Biggs shipped five thoroughbred white pups to Cheyenne Friday. Oscar Johnson attended the Sidney circus last Saturday.
Governor McKelvie appointed J. L. Tewell of Sidney last Tuesday to fill the thirteenth Nebraska district seat left by the late Judge H. M. Grimes. The selection followed a referendum by active attorneys of the district.
