Isabel Katherine Pieron Hruza, born 1892 in Trinidad Colorado, died March 1939 in Kimball Nebraska after long illness. She was wife of Frank Hruza and mother of nine, five surviving, with services at Potter M E Church attended by Royal Neighbors and many friends. Interment in Potter cemetery followed at Kimball mortuary arranging details.

Fred Studnicka won the bid for the Lafferty house in the north central town area at village trustees meeting Monday night. The price was 125 dollars, and he plans to move the building to his farm north of Potter for remodeling. The village had recently acquired another Lafferty property and took this one in on trade to clear the lot for a new feeder road and improve motorists’ view.

A Friday evening program by the drama department drew a small but appreciative audience. Students displayed notable dramatic ability. Readings for the district festival at Bayard on March 11 feature Abraham Lincoln by Nathan Mudge, White Lilacs by Dorothy Anderson, and Idiosyncrasies by Deloris Coulter. A one act play The Ring and the Look will be shown at Lyman, Nebraska, on March 24.

Wayne man escapes monoxide gas at plant
G L Rogers of Wayne Nebraska narrowly escaped a fatal carbon monoxide incident while caretaker at the Wayne normal school. He collapsed unconscious at 4 30 am during a night shift and lay unconscious for six hours before hospital treatment. He rested two weeks before returning to work.
