John and William Novotny farmers southeast of Kimball received cuts and bruises and William suffered a dislocated wrist when steering gear failed causing their car to plunge into a ditch near their home.
The Harry Goold property near the Ogallala courthouse was completely destroyed by fire. Other occupants mentioned include W. Atkinson and family and D. Sheldon and family. The Atkinson furniture was insured, as was the building.
Colorado officials protest to the Reconstruction Finance Corporation board, seeking release of funds for the Sutherland and Tri-County projects in Nebraska. Colorado asserts need for part of the North Platte water regardless of Wyoming or Nebraska rights.

Homer Williams aged 41 died at his Lyman home from dropsy attributed to exposure while repairing transmission lines last winter. At the Boys Industrial School in Kearney the sheriff escorted two brothers toward detention. An older brother hitchhiked to Ogallala to assess the situation. He said Suward had caused trouble and fled before, and their father drank and abused the family. The 20 year old had $2.00 in Milwaukee and 75 cents on returning.
Head nurse Miss Beatrice Cover of the ockett and Everett hospital at Kimball sustained a serious eye injury and facial lacerations after a passing car threw a rock through an open window breaking her glasses. One eyeball was cut, but surgeons placed several stitches and hope to save the sight.
Colorado state officials protest a reforestation program to be carried out in camps near Denver. More than 20 men passed exams for forester and camp foreman roles, yet none were appointed. Officials say positions were filled by politicians, mostly city men lacking forestry or road-building experience, risking park harm.

Johnny Goodman, Goshen county boy from Torrington, captured the United States open golf championship at the North Shore course in Glenview Illinois. He won by a single stroke after narrowly losing last year by one stroke. His family of father two brothers and a sister Miss Stanker live in Huntley community. He started as a caddy in Omaha then posted sensational scores to reach the top.
Wm Kubes, a prominent local farmer, lost a thumb and parts of two fingers on his left hand in a Friday accident. He was driving a Ford runabout when he hit a wire across a gate, stretched by an older son, which shattered the windshield and injured his hand. Two of his children were mildly hurt. He was taken to a Sidney hospital for treatment.
Miss Elizabeth Engstrom daughter of Mr and Mrs Adolph Engstrom and Alex Christen sen were married at 4:00 PM Tuesday at the bride s home. Rev Monkman of Kimball officiated. The ceremony featured I Love You Truly sung by attendants and a Lohengrin march. Guests from out of town attended a buffet supper then the couple left for a ten day honeymoon to Denver West es park and Colorado Springs. They will reside at Kirk Neb Mr Christensen formerly farmed Blair Neb and later in western Nebraska. Many Engstrom and Christensen relatives and friends attended.
H Wood of Scottsbluff, painting a sign in a Broadwater rooming house near the Shell station, was startled when a huge bear rose on its hind legs beside him. The bear belonged to the late Carl Wagoner, a practical joke common among locals.
