Everything Is Ready for the Celebration in Western Nebraska
Weather permitting about 3000 people are expected next Wednesday for a patriotic celebration organized by 400 citizens with $600 in cash. The day’s program features racing, two ball games for large purses, auto races, balloon ascension, dancing, moving pictures, and more. The Potter band of 15 will perform, a parade of floats is planned, and three teams will play in ball games. Balloons, official war films, Chaplin comedies, and a large 60x90 tent will host events. a rest room is offered for women and children. Everything is free except the dance. gambling and drinking are banned. the event aims for an orderly, honest celebration. The Methodist Church notes and Red Cross drive are also mentioned.

Wedding of June a Beautiful Affair
Miss Austrid Callie Olander and Clarence Walter Peterson were married at the bride’s home north of town in a June evening ceremony. Rev. Hanson presided, Maud Peterson played piano, with Harry Olander as best man and Esther Peterson as bridesmaid. A four course supper followed, with the couple planning to live on a farm north of Dix.
