Obituary notices the death of Robert John Wallick 39 a longtime Potter merchant died June 22 1930 after a weeklong illness from appendicitis and peritonitis. He was a Dalton native and a father of two sons Leland and Harland, husband of Marie Mayer, active in M E church Odd Fellows golf club and community work. Funeral services drew 500 attendees at Potter M E church with burial in Dalton.

Boeing Tri Motor Plane Wrecks West of Dix
A Boeing Tri Motor passenger plane carrying up to 16 people and mail made a forced landing south of Linn between Dix and Kimball after engine trouble last Sunday. The aircraft struck ground on landing, flipped, but all aboard escaped serious injury.

Gift of God pageant near Chimney Rock to draw five thousand
A large outdoor religious pageant titled The Gift of God will be staged near Chimney Rock in the Bayard area at 8 p m on June 26 and 27 with a 75 voice chorus a rocky amphitheater and 80 cast members. If stormy weather forces a delay the event will move to June 27 and 28. No admission but a silver offering will fund costumes rentals and lighting. Parking patrols will direct traffic and seating rules apply for families with children.

Farmwoman dies after mistaking fuel for kerosene
Miss Laura Bartow, 25, of a Kimball area farm residence, died from burns received when she poured gasoline on a fire misidentifying it as kerosene. She escaped the house engulfed in flames and leaped into a water tank, but fatal burns had already developed.

Farm Hand Shoots Self After Unrequited Love
According to press dispatches Frank Wensky, a farm hand on the George Edwardson farm north of Kimball, shot himself Saturday night. He died the next day after being rushed to Kimball hospital. initial reports suggested murder, but officials ruled it a self-inflicted death caused by despondency over unreturned affections.
