Accurate Time From An Electric Light Socket
Light customers in Potter and Dix May Dow can get accurate time from electric clocks. A master clock designed by Glenn Wise of Lodge Pole was installed at the Potter plant last Saturday and has run since. Engineers aim to keep time within a few seconds. Electric clocks need no setting or winding once started. Only plant shut-downs or line trouble cause interruptions. With service, clocks will run correctly and continuously. The clock uses a negligible amount of current.

Remains List Darkens Republican River Disaster
The article laments the death toll and missing persons in the Republican river disaster. It notes close boyhood friends among the dead and emphasizes widespread regional devastation. A 4 percent rainfall caused extensive erosion across 20 to 30 miles of countryside, washing soil into canyon bottoms and burying blue joint hay lands. Nebraska’s federal damage estimate of 11 million dollars may understate the total impact.
