The East Hurrah Potter Fourth of July celebration will be organized by the W. O. W. with town and Grove events. Residents are urged to join rather than have independent lodge or church efforts, aiming for a united, spirited display. A fine program is being formed and details will follow next week.
A special examination in county certificate subjects will be given at the office of the county superintendent on Friday June 20 and Saturday June 21. The regular annual meeting of Nebraska school districts is set for the last Monday in June June 30. New laws have not yet been received from publishers but will be sent to each director when they arrive.
Two churches announce a union program with evening services alternating locations for the next four Sundays. Next Sunday the M. & church hosts the union service, a young peoples meeting at seven and a sermon at nine. A cordial invitation is extended to all to attend.
Postoffice hours run 7 am to 8 pm daily except Sundays when closed. Mail going east departs 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, while mail going west departs 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. No. 5 leaves at 12:51 am and does not take mail from this office.

A big game at Herdon near the John Walsh schoolhouse promises fast action. Expect one of the season’s quickest sacks races with Potter as a focal point. Fans urged to root for Potter.
The railway cuts No. 5 westbound and No. 6 eastbound, leaving Potter area towns in a railroad convenience hole. Residents are urged to use No. 3 at 6 02 a m or go without transport, with critics noting better service on the Burlington and other branches. Riders must improvise, hopping on the bumpers as a last resort.
Redington reports Harry Bartling buys a five passenger Ford for Redington to Bridgeport service. Mrs G J Nash of Gillet Wyoming visits Redington and bridges to Torrington with sister Gladys. Ted Kelle and Vern Waitman family host brief visits. Mrs Will Pickerell mourns mother in Wyoming. A social dance occurs at Old Fowler house with good turnout. Bride Miss Nelly Childs and George Randall wed in Bridgeport then travel to Denver by car. Harry Bartling’s car fire damages vehicle in Bridgeport garage. five cars burn.

Hans Hansen of Council Bluffs Iowa and Jacobine Sophia Nelson were married at the Danish Lutheran church on June 6 at 10 am by Rev Schmidt. Miss Nelson is the daughter of Julius Nelsons. A wedding dinner was served at the bride’s home and the couple departed for a honeymoon trip to Denver.
