Potter lost to Dalton by a small margin after a fast paced game on Sunday. Potter led with a potential shutout until Dalton scored twice in the eighth and the decisive run in the ninth. Potter outplayed Dalton in most facets but could not overcome the late rally.
The Glad Hand church invites all to a Children’s Day program with music and a brief address on The Right of the Child by Rev. Garland. A free basket dinner follows in the church basement. Epworth League meets at 7 p.m. on loyalty. Evening service features a patriotic sermon Why the United States Was Justified in Declaring War Against Germany. Mid week prayer and choir practice scheduled. all are welcome.
Dalton and Potter pitched through seven innings with Dalton allowing two runs in the final frame. Gregory struck out 12, Dresher 8, while Heinzman Brennan Clark Dresher Spitz Bart Babcock Biggs each reached base or scored. Key hits included Heinzman and Clark with two-base hits and Dresher Kammerer recording multiple hits and walks.

The village board met in regular session Monday evening with High Thornburg Goding present. Johnson tardy and Woten absent. Bills allowed include F G M Co coal Lion Bonding Co treas bond 1000 Charles High advanced 1023 Clerk e 7 71 Five warrants of 3 each to Andrew Nelson Chas Stanton O F Scoville and Dr Ames for election board service. Bonds of S Hannibal as treasurer and A M Leafdale as police judge approved. Goding appointed street commissioner to assist Wotcen.
The bride, a respected Cheyenne girl taught north of town and now with a hopeful outlook, and the groom, a diligent local farmer, are praised as upright, affectionate partners. They are the son of Mr and Mrs Julius Cavalli, and well regarded throughout the community.
Union Pacific will use the era Railway tracks between Kelvin and Loveland Colorado to operate summer tourist passenger trains for Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park visitors from June 15 through September 30. Through cars will run between Denver and Loveland on all UP trains on the Denver Fort Collins line with connecting service LaSalle to Loveland on several Denver Chicago and Denver Cheyenne routes. The line expects heavy mountain resort travel this summer.
All members and friends of the Lutheran church are invited to a Family Day program next Sunday at 10 o'clock in Leafdale. The pastor seeks to meet all interested in church work and welcomes new members or baptisms during the service. Bring family and friends for the Leafdale service. Sunday afternoon, June 14 at 2 30.
The Board of Equalization of Cheyenne County will meet on Tuesday June 12 1917 at the Court House Sidney Nebraska. The session will last between three and twenty days. Any complaints regarding tax assessments must be made at this time. PF N Slawson County Clerk.

Mary Helen Irey wed Carl Arthur Cavalli at the groom’s north town home in a noon ceremony witnessed by nearly fifty guests. Best man Fred Cavalli and bridesmaid Anna Nelson attended. Rev Garland of Potter performed the ring ceremony. Carl Spitzbart played violin. The bride wore silk crepe de chine Georgette and Brussels net with pearl beads and an orange blossom adorned veil. A shower bouquet of white roses and lily of the valley was carried. The groom wore blue serge. dinner followed. Out-of-town guests included Mr and Mrs Gus Palmer and Fred Cavalli.
