A large gathering is expected in Potter Saturday with merchants offering red hot specials and a Community Club cash drawing contest. The event repeats each Saturday afternoon and hundreds have registered to compete for awards as locals showcase progress in western Nebraska.
University of Nebraska geologists report a vast underground water supply in glacial deposits and coarse gravel under eastern Nebraska. Water drains from northwest to southeast, supporting surface irrigation. many Platte valley farms already use deep wells with crop yields rising.
Gunnison Colorado. Garwood H. Judd a well known mining man and early pioneer of Gothic died at Crested Butte. He came to Gothic during its 1879 boom and stayed as the town dwindled into a ghost city. Judd famed as the "mayor of Gothic" for decades, educated and from an Illinois family active in mining, never held office but remained a local and tourist figure.
The Potter Bearcats are scheduled to play at Sidney next Sunday per the county league calendar. A hard fought game is anticipated. Chas C Stevens of Pine Bluffs Wyoming visited Potter this week at his brother’s home.

Over $80 was received at the door by the Walther League from their Tuesday evening production High Horse. A large audience praised the play and specialty numbers, noting hard to beat young talent and the league’s strong work. The group earned praise and hopes for future entertainments in Potter.
