A full day at Potter Athletic Park featuring a morning parade at 10 with speakers, towel races and showers for children, and a 1 p.m. start for mudsling events and yard races for various age groups. Evening activities include a boxing bout, dancing, fireworks at 8:30, moving pictures, and continuous music by the Potter Concert Band.
The Potter celebration is nearly ready with sunrise salutes and a full day of events from morning till night. An estimated 1500 to 3000 attendees are expected, with free activities except for admission to the ball game, show, boxing event, and dance. Rest rooms and cold drinks will be provided, and the day promises continuous entertainment despite extra attractions being added. The Kimball versus Potter baseball game in the afternoon is not a scheduled Lodge Pole Valley League game.
Unknown intruders entered the Pine Bluffs power house last Thursday evening during engineer G. E. Evans absence and caused about 350 dollars in damage. They tore a screen from the west window, gained entry, and threw a switch turning current into the large generator, damaging insulated wiring though the generator remains operational. No motive is known.
The last Lodge Pole Warriors visit Sunday July 3 to face the Bear Cats in game eight of the series. Potter beat Lodge Pole last meeting, but the next game may not be easy. Start time is 2 30 pm with admission 35 cents.

A Dalton area tragedy details Charles St Nichols shooting Emma Carew near Carow farm and then attempting suicide. Emma dies, Nichols wounds himself twice, doctor and sheriff respond. Nichols later survives and is treated, motive linked to shattered marriage plans as Emma refused his proposal. The incident occurred about five miles east of Dalton after Emma visited an attorney in Sidney.
The article details a shooting involving Nichols a 48 year old farmer and Emma Carow 24, her family background and the aftermath. Nichols was taken to Sidney for safety. Emma Carow’s funeral was held at the Dalton Lutheran church with large attendance and burial beside her father.
Sheridan street has been graded from the east end to the west end a distance of ten blocks. The road runs past the M E church and the schoolhouse on the south. The grade follows standard highway scales and aims to aid flood water distribution for residents in the southeast part of town.

A new United States Weather Bureau rain gage was installed last Friday and, despite hot days with highs around 90, no rain has fallen yet, leaving the device awaiting a test.
A brief thunderstorm moved through Thursday afternoon, delivering about 0.49 inch of rain. The heaviest showers appeared north of Potter, with the local area experiencing a soaking that day.
