A varied week brought warm Christmas days and rapid snow melt. Cold winds on Christmas night dropped morning temperatures to near zero on Monday and Tuesday, with a moderate middle of the week and a forecasted cold wave not materializing by noon Thursday as temperatures hovered around 45 degrees and snow melted. Cloudiness predominated. the week yielded a white Christmas with lingering snow from the December 10 storm and a thaw ahead.
Edgar Leafdale of Kansas drove to Haviland to spend Christmas with his wife and son but was hospitalized after a back injury from a coyote hunting accident. The injury is not permanent but required care. he had just recovered from a recent windmill accident. The Leafdales plan to return to Potter in about two weeks once he recovers.
Farmers Union local 725 will hold its annual meeting Friday January 6 1939 at Pete Nelson schoolhouse. Officers to be elected a basket dinner at noon followed by a program and county convention report plus election of delegates to the state convention at Omaha. All members urged to attend.
Geo W Hicks sends the Review to his son Leland in Napa California and his daughter Opal in Los Angeles. He wishes them both a merry Christmas and a happy new year in a warm holiday gesture.

Family present included Chas Fisher James Fisher Arlo Fisher Irene Dunlavy Harvey Fisher and two attending sons Homer and Thomas and daughter Elsie Argyle. Elsie Argyle of Los Angeles was among those absent. The Review extends congratulations and best wishes for many more years of happiness.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wickstrom have moved to their farm home, settling into a country residence after relocating from their previous address. The couple plans to adjust routines and expand work on the rural property.

The Potter Community Boosters club will meet next Wednesday evening, January 4, 1939, at 6 30 at Stines cafe with a good program. Dean Hagemeister leads the program and many important matters will be discussed. all are urged to attend.
Faculty and students enjoy a vacation week but will return next Monday. Most schools delay reopening to Tuesday, yet this board votes to restart Monday morning January 2 1939, disregarding the holiday.
The Potter public school received a book form copy of the United States Constitution last Friday from the American Legion. Lawrence F. Schwartz, department vice commander, delivered the presentation in a fitting manner.

Mrs Harley Hite daughter of Mr and Mrs John Paviat of Potter has been very ill with pneumonia at a Sidney hospital. We are glad to report that at this writing she is considerably improved.
