The Sidney Lions club sponsors a new year round-up covering about 121000 acres over a 12 by 16 mile area. Captains lead mile boundaries with six men each, about 350 participants needed. The event starts at 10 00 a m next Monday with no rifles or shotgun slugs allowed.

The Fairbanks Horse centrifugal pump was installed at city wells last week by a company engineer and approved after tests on Sunday. It doubles water output for the same power as the old unit. The Sunday school program at the Methodist church drew nearly 400 attendees. Each received candy and nuts. $34 funded treats, $10.60 was collected for benevolence to students in inner and outer missions. Officers and teachers thank all who helped and wish blessing for the new year.
Goodview defeated Oshkosh 22 10 in the first game of the season. Pine Bluffs boys beat Albin 30 21 and Pine Bluffs girls won 39 11 in another pair of district matchups.
Lodge Pole lost to Goodview 25 to 13 in one extra period. Goodview second team also won.

A Standard Oil station in Oshkosh was robbed by an intruder who could operate the safe combination. Entry was gained through a restroom window after the lock had been loosened from inside.
Paxton well known farm news writer Harry Lute, whose work appeared in the Nebraska Farmer and other magazines, is seriously ill in a North Platte hospital after an appendicitis operation.
An exchange reports a family announcing a blessed event stating that on a specific date they complied with the NRA by reducing rest hours and increasing their force by 74 percent, resulting in a new baby boy.
In Dalton, driver H. Zorn, a farmer, was pinned under his overturned car a half mile south of town. He sustained cuts and bruises as doctors suspect a prior heart attack contributed to the crash.
