Perry Postal Hosts a Vast Wild West Picnic Near Potter

A thousand visitors attend a Perry Postal ranch celebration at Lang's Point near Potter Nebr where 200 cars circle a field. Cowboys compete in bronco riding steer roping bucking and roping events and a Bayard Lions Band plays while locals from Potter Scottsbluff Redington Bayard Dalton and Sidney cheer a Redington Center baseball win.

Legion Day in Potter Set for September 8

American Legion plans a Legion day in Potter on Thursday September 8 featuring a baseball game across a wild west stunt show and a night show and dance. The organizing committee is finalizing a full sport and entertainment program with additional attractions to be announced next week.

Home Service Worker to Visit Potter and Nearby Towns

Miss Alberta Outhouse of the Red Cross Home Service Section will tour Cheyenne county throughout September. She will spend Mondays in Potter, Tuesdays in Lodge Pole, and Wednesdays in Dalton, with remaining time in Sidney's district court room. Her mission is to assist soldiers sailors and marines in preparing and filing adjustment claims if entitled.

Several soaking rains have fallen this week, moistening the ground. The 23rd brought 2.21 inches in morning and noon, with 0.36 inches later, followed by 0.60 inches on Wednesday evening. August totals 1.05 inches so far, July rainfall 1.38 inches.

Cheyenne County Teachers Institute Dates Set in 1921

The Cheyenne County Teachers Institute will be held October 6 7 and 8 1921. Under the new school law all county teachers must attend and pay preserved while in attendance, contingent on the county superintendent reporting full attendance to the school directors.

Potter School Reopens With Strong Faculty and Picnic

Methodist Church Notes and a Wedding in Potter

Next Sunday the pastor exchanges pulpits with Rev. W. H. Wright of Kimball in Potter. Services include Sunday school 10 a m, preaching 10 a m, Epworth League 7 p m, and evening service 8 p m with the fourth quarterly conference led by Rev. Dr. M. E. Gilbert. A simple wedding breakfast preceded a journey to Sidney and eastern Nebraska before settling in Nebraska City.

Herman MacAdam Wedding at Potter Home

At high noon on Wednesday the marriage of Fred Louis Herman and Miss Mable MacAdam was solemnized at the bride’s brother R L MacAdam’s home in Potter. Rev Thomas Hunter of Kimball’s Presbyterian church officiated in a simple ceremony. The bride wore lace and satin with a cameo gift from the groom and a bouquet of bridal roses. her attendant R L MacAdam wore white organdie with pink rose corsage.

Mrs E H Biggs Surprised by Birthday Gathering at Home

Mrs Ek SH Biggs returned from a country trip to find about thirty lady friends assembled to celebrate her birthday. The afternoon included a dainty lunch of ice cream cake and coffee. Guests listed include Mrs F C Harris sister Mrs C A Larsen Mrs Wm Goding and many others. C W Johnson spent part of the week in Denver on business.
