This year Potter Days offers many free events next Monday and Tuesday except for the dances which carry a nominal fee. Gate keepers are scarce, and a feature ball game is reported free for the first time. A chuck wagon feed is free for registered old timers, with a free will barrel for donations from appreciative tinters.
Seventy five dollars worth of new merchandise from Potter merchants will be given away in 36 lots next Tuesday. Everyone may register at the booth on Tuesday to receive a number. If your number is drawn at 5:00 p.m. and you are present, prize is handed out. No further action required after registration.
Seventy five cent trade cards return next Monday and Tuesday at the Review office. Subscribers may pay in advance for multiple years at 1.50 per year and receive a 75 cent trade card valid for two weeks at any Potter business. Out of town remittances must be postmarked by August 31 to qualify.
Battery assignments for Potter's final league game Sunday plan Subry and Raddatz with a possible Subry appearance. For August 29 Potter Daya the battery is Lefty Peterson and Raddatz. Bill Subry has pitched the Bearcats to the season’s best record, needing a win over Peetz to finish unbeaten. Petersom stars for Ogallala and faces Cheyenne County all stars next Tuesday in a pivotal prelude to the next season.
The Bearcats started poorly at Pine Bluff, trailing 10 8 in the third inning but then rallied as Byron Johnson debuted on the mound and Bill Subry delivered key relief. Potter remains undefeated in league play. A win next Sunday over Peetz would clinch a perfect season.
Registration for the chuck wagon feed in this section of the country in 1908 or earlier is now open at the Review office. Local residents must register Friday Saturday or Monday to secure tickets for Tuesday forenoon, with early signup encouraged. The registry limits attendance to old timers in Nebraska northern Colorado and eastern Wyoming, while spectators may visit to watch forefathers cook over open fires amid cow chip smoke. The feed is funded by free will donations and $10 from the Potter days association.
The program lists daily activities at West End City Park with rides, exhibits, and free acts by the Rosards Acrobatic Funsters, hourly concerts by the Dalton Band, parades, a Chuck Wagon Feed, and a free merchandise drawing sponsored by local vendors. Priced dances at 75 cents.
The outdoor platform shifts this year to the east of the bank where the band concerts free acts by the Rosards and a free drawing will take place. The public address system will be headquartered there for the event.
Peetz travels Sunday to take on the Bearcats in the final league game of the season. A Potter victory would seal an undefeated league run. Bill Subry will be in the Potter box for the game.
Ervin Lueders asked last week to change the address on his Review from Fronna Missouri to Dalton Nebraska. He has been in Frohna for several months.

Exhibits open to all in Cobbler area with tables and booths for vegetables fruits and household goods. Entries due by Aug 29 with judging and prizes for crops, baked goods, and livestock while various 4 H clubs compete for top ribbons and cash awards. sports events include children races and tug of war at Potter fair grounds.
Parade committee seeks donations to support entries with prizes such as ponies bicycles comics and cash values of 175 and 2 1 50 and 10 5 3. Organizations and individuals urged to inventory resources and contribute to build a better parade.
Art Oberndorfer thanks responders and helpers who answered the call last Tuesday during the farm fire. He expresses appreciation for the quick response and aid received from the community.

For sale curbside assortment from Henry Stahla including golden bantam sweet corn for canning potatoes cabbage onions carrots turnips peppers and other vegetables located two miles east and a half mile south of Potter at Johnson ranch priced at 8 cents per unit.
Eight hundred bills were distributed by the advertising committee in Dalton Gurley Sidney Dix Kimball and other towns at the start of the week and some were mailed. The committee reports an extra cordial reception at every business house visited in neighboring towns. Newspaper ads appear in Kimball Sidney Dalton Lodge Pole and Peetz papers this week.
All freshmen register Thursday August 31 if possible, else by appointment. Office open all day Friday. Students may change registration or ask questions. No seats assigned until Monday morning. Bring certificate for free high school tuition. A B Connell Superintendent.
Pastor Dr W T Kahse invites worship at 3 p m with Bible school at 2 15 p m Sunday services announced by First Lutheran Church The notice urges attendance for worship and sermon at the stated time.
St Pauls Evangelical Lutheran at Potter 13 miles west of Gurley hosts its annual Mission Festival with German service at 10 am led by Rev Wi Harms of Scottsbluff and English service at 2 pm conducted by Rev P Heitman of Pine Bluffs Wyoming. Welcome to this service and invite friends.
Pastor C. R. Tanner invites all to church school at 10 and worship at 11 next Sunday, the last August service of the season at the grove at 5. Lars Anderson and Alfred Arnell lead classes away this week. several attendees have not been absent for three months.
A fire of unknown origin badly burned a cane stack at the Art Oberndorfer farm northeast of Potter on Tuesday evening last week. Quick neighbor response limited damage and prevented spread to other parts of the property.
Mr and Mrs Kenneth Wickstrom have moved to Cheyenne for the winter where both have found employment.
Potter announces a community booth at the county fair next week. Exhibits left at the Potter Days booth will compete with county entries and entrants will receive any premiums won. Entries are taken to Sidney, registered in the exhibitor's name, and brought back to Potter.
The Cheyenne county fair board invites the ladies of Potter to submit entries in fancy work baking and can ning for the county fair planned September 5 6 7 8. Signed by Mrs Peter Hansen on behalf of the fair board.
The Kensington ladies raised about fourteen dollars at their ice cream social held Saturday afternoon. C R Spencer and family left Friday for Portland Oregon to attend the mail carriers convention, about a two week trip. Ed Delap and son Frank returned home from a two week visit with Edna Killham in Kansas City. Vera Poindexter of Laramie visited Mrs Clifford Stahly. A park picnic Sunday honored Mr and Mrs Jess Poindexter and Mr and Mrs Solheim with about fifty attending. Ed Mulligan returned Monday from Sterling. L H Seikmar daughters spent a few days at encampment Wyoming. Jess Poindexter and children of Laramie visited friends in Dix. Lewis Solheim of Bismarck ND visiting friends. Solheim was formerly a Dix high school teacher. Mrs Fred Maddock of Julesburg was a business caller in Dix Wednesday. Evelyn Campbell was a business caller in Scottsbluff Wednesday. Mrs Ray Johnson staying with her mother Mrs M L Peterson. Mesdames Goding Campbell Graham Stahly Scheele Gunderson Killham and Esther Stahly attended Rebekah lodge in Sidney Wednesday evening. George Jackson and Billy and Phillip spent Tuesday evening at the Lloyd Shaw home.
Exhibits are consolidated into the Johnson store building with agricultural, household, school, and 4H displays in the main room. Livestock will be shown in the sheds south of the store building, keeping all exhibits close together outside the store window.
State game warden C Hurling arrested Steve Tilghman Kenneth Tilghman and Jay Sharp for unlawful killing of pheasants on August 7. In county court they pled guilty and were fined $10 each with $10 property damage and court costs. The game commission plans more wardens to curb unlawful hunting this year.
Grover Rupe of Kirk displayed a bucketful of rattlesnakes last Saturday. He dug up 14 young snakes from a hole and placed the brood, now in alcohol, in a jar at the pool hall for viewing.
Mrs Orlyn Rogers of Rockford was called west by the serious illness of her daughter Margaret Reddy. Margaret was taken to a Sidney hospital last Thursday.
The 4 H achievement day program was held in the schoolhouse Wednesday afternoon and evening. Both boys and girls took part. The girls performed a style show.
Professor Fred L. Herman drove to Potter to retrieve his children Elizabeth and Alan. They had spent the last two months at the home of their aunt and uncle, Roy L. MacAd am and his wife.
Mr and Mrs Harry Hermansen and daughter Eunice traveled from Hay Springs to visit his brother Emner and family and sister Mrs Albert Nielsen and family over the weekend. They with Mr and Mrs Peter Hansen were dinner guests Sunday at the Herman sen home.
Mr and Mrs HM A Helstrom of Chicago visited since August 15 at Mrs C B Smith's home with family. They were called home Wednesday by an emergency appendicitis operation on their eldest son. They, with the Smith family, had just completed a 200 mile drive in the Colorado mountains.
