Sales Tax Tokens Vanish From Ogden Area

Utah tax officials report 40 thousand one mill sales tax tokens entering the Ogden trading area each week but quickly disappearing. Branch manager Forbes Foster says 520000 new one mill tokens were issued in five months, plus 60000 issued earlier, while the larger five mill tokens remain steady.

Ruling Issued In Idaho Case On Farm Intervention

District Judge Charles F. Koelsch ruled that three Canyon county farmers may intervene in the state fruit and vegetable marketing commission suit to compel Myrtle P. Eaking to pay the commission claims. Intervenors William Rose G W Browning and J K Kellore are represented by Ariel Crowley who argues the 1937 law is unconstitutional. Senator George Donart and Maurice Greene opposed Crowley's intervention.

Kellogg to be laid to rest at national cathedral

Funeral plans update Kellogg internationally famed statesman and diplomat will be laid to rest Monday in the national cathedral joining the remains of Wilson and Dewey. His body will be taken to the capital tomorrow night after simple Episcopal services in St Paul. He died Wednesday night just before his birthday.

Former Union Pacific Chief Engineer Dies

New York December 24 death yesterday claimed George Herndon Peagram 82 longtime chief engineer of the Interborough Rapid Transit Subway system and former chief engineer for the Union Pacific Railway system Peagram born in Council Bluffs Iowa began as an engineer for the Utah and Northern railroad in Idaho he studied transit problems in Europe and later served as consulting engineer for the Missouri Pacific railroad before being named Union Pacific chief engineer in 1893.

Guthrie Oklahoma December 24 William Jennings Watson 36 who has been unable to use his legs since infancy passed a state drivers test with a score of 92. Lewis County State Normal Gym Grant Approved

The state board of education approved a federal public works administration grant of 36 000 dollars toward an 80 000 dollar gymnasium at the state normal school in Lewiston. Bids open January 8 and construction begins by January 13 with the remaining 44 000 funded by bond sales and a five dollar quarterly student fee.
