Groom Mines Show Real Promise In Lead District

Wm Wheatley, returning from Groom, reports ore found in all directions with strong assay value. The district is described as lead producing with a thicker vein of ore than expected. Rail links within fifty miles improve transport as ore will go to Johnny Siding on the Las Vegas and Tonopah line. the Higgenson Brothers drive development.

High Grade Ores Reported At Poorman And Bristol Mines

The Poorman mine near town reports very high ore under lease by Mr S H Babbitt with a constant work force. Bristol Copper company prepares to ship exceptionally high grade ore valued in the hundreds per ton. Nevada Des Moines shaft reaches 160 feet and shows limestone transitioning to quartzite with potential large ore bodies. An electric drilling plan is considered to enhance exploration and eventual profitable returns.

Andersons Operations Expanded Mining Efforts in Pioche

W S Anderson has organized three companies to push active mining development in Pioche. The Columbus Pioche Mining Company will sink a shaft and run three shifts near the Half Moon mine, adjoining Demijohn claims. The Pioche Lead and Silver Mining Company and the Georgia Pioche Mining Company plan immediate, large-scale development with many workers. Dr Thomas N Baker leads Georgia Pioche, expecting high returns from invested capital. Dan Mahedy named general superintendent to oversee operations. An excursion for Georgia capitalists to Pioche is planned this month with a chartered special car, signaling a major push in local mining activity.
