The L B E BG N Ry plans a route from Bowling Green to Tontogany paralleling the C H D Ky line. Probate court allows an electric line to cross property after amicable settlements with owners. Escape at Jackson Penitentiary Nets Two Inmates

John Sheets and Alexander McKenzie escaped from Jackson Michigan prison Friday at 11 p.m. using sawed window access. Sheets, a Toledo Brook crook previously jailed for horse stealing, had been transferred from Adrian after a fifteen year sentence. McKenzie, a Kent County lifer convicted of murder, is also missing.

Yellow Limited Cars Show Luxurious Traction Fleet

The Findlay Republican reports the T. A. & J. Traction company is repainting car No. 180 for limited service. Three traction lines will supply four cars each, all painted bright yellow and richly furnished inside. This is the second of four cars by the T. A. & T. to be delivered, with the rest to follow soon in the latest design and high speed.

Celebration Planned For Fourth At Wood County Fair Grounds

Wood County Sunday School Association prepares a big Fourth of July celebration at Bowling Green fair grounds with Capt. Jack Crawford as main speaker at 12 30. A big picnic and many athletic events with over a dozen prizes. Schools must parade by 10, bannered entries, and runners must register by July first for events.

Perrysburg Celebration Highlights County Saloons and Tax

Wood County now has fifty saloons with licenses paid for six months. Seven towns saw changes from prior counts as North Baltimore Cus tar and Lemoyne lost outlets while Perrysburg gained one. Cigarette sales are limited to five spots, mainly in Bowling Green. The liquor tax distributes funds to state towns county and various funds with sums listed for each locale.

YACHT AND MOTOR BOAT RACES AND OTHER CONTESTS

The celebration features yacht and motor boat races with brass bands, fireworks, and a full program of contests. Events include baseball games Perrysburg vs Waterville, pole climbing, tug of war, wheel barrow, nail driving, foot races for men and boys, women and seniors, bicycle and motorcycle races, horse running, pitching, a fire department display, Woodmen drill, grand orations, and band concerts with a fireworks display throughout the evening.

Ruth Shafer’s divorce petition was refused earlier, and now her husband George Shafer’s divorce request is denied, citing cruelty and alleged marriage for property.
