Republican Committees Postpone Meeting to June 29

The Republican executive and central committees adjourned a planned afternoon session due to lack of quorum. The rescheduled meeting will address endorsing a board of supervisors candidate, possibly replace PB Prentice who relocated, and discuss township elections and the new law. Aust and Lime City residents were noted as guests.

Boxwell Patterson commence ment at Bowling Green High School

Train derailment disrupts service near Galatea

A freight locomotive on the O.C. railway derailed at Galatea at noon Monday. The northbound passenger train was diverted to the eastern division. No injuries were reported and the wreck was described as minor.

Death of Mrs. John Hanifan at Haskins after illness

Mrs. John Hanifan died at her home in Haskins on Monday night June 14 1907 after a lingering valvular heart illness. She leaves a husband and four children two boys and two girls. Funeral services were held from St Rose of Lima church Perrysburg Monday morning conducted by Rev J A Kleekamp.

Railroad injunction seeks to halt road grading near Waterville

County commissioners sue Lima and Toledo Traction Co and its contractor over plans to lower a river road grade opposite Waterville by about four feet. Prosecutor Ladd seeks injunction under the franchise granted by the county. The railroad had agreed to meet road grades to avoid such action.

Boxwell Graduates Shine From District 11

The Boxwell class from District VI showed pride at the Township commencement held Saturday evening June 5 in Perrysburg. About half of the graduates were from Boxwell, thanks to the dedicated efforts of teacher Grace Blinn. All pupils plan to attend Perrysburg High School next year.

Contracts Awarded for Multiple Perrysburg Bridges and Abutments

The board awarded several bids for bridge and abutment work in Perrysburg and surrounding townships. Bids include BL Dennis and Toledo Massillon Bridge Co for concrete abutments and tron bridge work at various locations with per perch and per foot rates. Other contractors include Hancock Iron & Steel Co and RW Johnson with additional stone and concrete bridge work in Bloom and Portage townships.

Dangerous Experiment Injures Four Boys Near Explosive Gas

Four boys under 10 years old tried acetylene gas by mixing carbide with water in a two gallon bottle. A corked opening caused gas to escape slowly, but rapid generation led to an explosion. the Sarver brothers suffered the worst injuries from glass. They were attended by physicians and plan to stop experiments until July Fourth.

Water Works Contract With H D Ry Co Noted

The Board of Public Affairs closed a contract with H D Ry Co to supply water at $600 yearly, payable monthly. The Railway and 35 other subscribers bring in over $950 yearly, covering operating costs. Applications for water connections are urged before the dry season. Sprinkling rate is one half cent per month.

Married in Detroit Two Beloved Local Tourists Wed

Miss Lula Wallace of Perrysburg and John P. Shepherd of New York City were married at the Patterson home in Detroit on Wednesday June 12 1907 by Rev Barkley. Wallace daughter of Charles Wallace formerly with A T & T in Toledo. Shepherd traveling representative for a medical supply house. They are now on a trip down the Ohio River and receive best wishes for happiness.

Death of William H. Williamson in Webster Township

William Henry Williamson, a well known Webster township resident, died at his home three miles north of Scotch Ridge on Saturday afternoon. He suffered a paralytic stroke a year ago and had been increasingly helpless. He was 57 and moved to Wood county in 1873.
