Train derailment disrupts service near Galatea
A freight locomotive on the O.C. railway derailed at Galatea at noon Monday. The northbound passenger train was diverted to the eastern division. No injuries were reported and the wreck was described as minor.

Dangerous Experiment Injures Four Boys Near Explosive Gas
Four boys under 10 years old tried acetylene gas by mixing carbide with water in a two gallon bottle. A corked opening caused gas to escape slowly, but rapid generation led to an explosion. the Sarver brothers suffered the worst injuries from glass. They were attended by physicians and plan to stop experiments until July Fourth.

Death of William H. Williamson in Webster Township
William Henry Williamson, a well known Webster township resident, died at his home three miles north of Scotch Ridge on Saturday afternoon. He suffered a paralytic stroke a year ago and had been increasingly helpless. He was 57 and moved to Wood county in 1873.
