On a Thanksgiving morning a jailed prisoner tried to break from the jail through a telegraph office window. City officials fined a local mayor after a previous incident, while the suspect fled town just before noon. The uproar frightened kitchen workers and prompted police escort to the city jail.
On Wednesday December 4 2007 Misa Ada Long of Bowling Green and Harry Thompson of Perrysburg were married at the brides parents home by Rev Rogers. A wedding dinner followed as they prepared to make Perrysburg their home. The bride formerly worked in the county auditor office and is a daughter of Freeman Long. Isaac Rideout of Ross township said during a Monday visit that the township has the lowest tax rate in the county. He credits careful management and conservation for the low levy, as reported by the Sentinel.
On a Monday morning a broken guy wire during tree work near Walridge caused A W Whitley and O Kimtey to fall from a trestle into the ground below. Both men, residents of Lancaster, were killed.

Conductor William Light, 25, of Lima, was struck by a moving DHL freight engine at Perrysburg station while attempting to cross. His left foot was crushed and amputated above the ankle at Rheinfrank hospital. He is recovering with his wife at his side.

Sandwich and wife of Woodville and Mrs Mary Chamberlain of Danbridge were guests of De Verna and family Sunday. Geo Hite and wife had Sunday dinner with Geo Fetterman and family. Chas Apel of Danbridge and Bertha Thomas visited De Verna and family. Art Wallace spent Monday at Rudolph. Walter Hite visited relatives at Cygnet. Alfred Simmons and Harry Beaudry spent Tuesday evening with Walter Hite.

Christopher J age 48 and his four daughters were struck by two southbound engines near Huskins while returning from church. The father and Edna died, Alma and Dur were injured, Cora escaped with minor scrapes, and Carl saved them from a water-filled ditch before alerting neighbors.
A Wabash freight rear collided with another at Maumee early Monday. Two injured, one fatally. The conductor in the caboose died en route to hospital. The caboose burned atop the engine. A brakeman was only slightly hurt.
Chas Zingg traveled to Bowling Green on business on Monday. Mrs S Trowbridge and Miss Bertha visited Frank Armbruster and wife Sunday evening. A baby girl was born to Nicholas Roneau and wife last Friday. Rose Bellmer of Miami vacationed with her sister Mrs Nicholas Roneau for Thanksgiving. Miss Cornell of Rossford visited Mrs E Snoyder over Sunday. Ida Trowbridge of Toledo spent Sunday with Mrs S Trowbridge. Ernest Spratt of Grover Hill visited his mother Mrs 8 Trowbridge on Sunday.
