The old Hocking Valley Railway dissolved at midnight as the Columbus Hocking Valley and Toledo Railway became the new entity. Nicholas Monsarrat is president, M. S. Haskins and miners seek coal weighing reform in Glouster talks
Mr W H Haskins president of the Ohio Miners organization arrived in the city and conferred with Operator J B Morton on a new coal weighing system at the Glouster mine. Miners claim two of thirty tons are wasted as junk dust. Haskins foresees a settlement with Hocking Valley operators before March 31 and notes current rates: operators seeking 42 2 3 cents per ton, miners demanding 47 1/2 cents. The Columbus Natural Gas company begins three well leases in Fairfield county with extensive pipeline plans into Columbus and Logan. O H W T R announces Home Seekers Excursions to the West on several dates with 21 day return passes and stopovers for inspecting land.
