Sunday evening the Bellnidas of Logan High School escorted by Superintendent Pierpont and teachers attended the baccalaureate sermon at the Presbyterian church. Dr H J Steward spoke on King Solomon and the expulsive power of a true affection, urging education and gospel methods to prevent ignorance and evil. The New York Presbyterian assembly and creed adoption are noted, along with a Methodist appeal to unite churches in Salem. A dispute over church property between Presbyterians and Methodists in that city looms, with court action possible.
A local notice extols Frank P. Martin of Marion Township Hocking County as a strong Democrat candidate for Probate Judge. A distressing accident occurred about a mile north of Lancaster on the Hocking Valley railroad.
