Patrolman Herman Bill reports daily complaints from residents and agencies as he locates owners and removes junkers. Between July 18 and August 18 Western Hills saw 43 cars towed or lost to neglect with towing costs rising.

The Rural Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing September 18 at 1 30 p m on revising the Community Unit Plan for Kramer Construction Co on Mt Alverno Rd east of Pedretti Rd Delhi Township. The revision would convert shopping use to apartments or townhouses with up to 71 units. Abandoned cars litter Western Hills as patrols seek to remove them and authorities consider city ownership of a metal shredder to curb the problem.

C. O. Harrison longtime Delhi Township Elementary School principal 1931 1963 died Aug 26 in St George Hospital Westwood at age 75 just 17 days shy of his 76th birthday He led the school through consolidation into Oak Hills and had two facilities named in his honor including the C O Harrison Gymnasium and the C O Harrison Elementary School. He served as a Marine in WWI earned degrees from Berea College Kentucky and University of Cincinnati He coached baseball and basketball and mentored future principals His survivors include his wife two sons Lewis M Harrison and Creed W Harrison and a daughter Marjorie Kock Funeral held at Barbour Funeral Home Tollesboro Kentucky burial Ebenezer Cemetery Trinity.

John G. Blome of Price Hill receives Knight of the Year honors from the Mother Seton Council Knights of Columbus for 1968 69. A lifetime Price Hill resident, he attended Holy Family and Elder, served in the Army Corps of Engineers, and works for the Board of Education. He and his wife Betty and daughter Sharon live at St. Williams parish. He helped build a parade float for Seton High School dedication in 1957 and held multiple council roles including Grand Knight in 1963 64. He also led Seton Home Company efforts and coordinates Girl Scout booths and Seton High School activities.

Walter W. Specht asked the Oak Hills Board of Education to pass resolutions extending district support to all students in public and non public schools. He requested a Sept 15 presentation and urged creating a joint public and non public school committee to foster funding and cooperation within legal limits. Hillman said Specht, a State board member of Citizens for Educational Freedom, will speak at the meeting.
