In the Western Hills area voters favored John J. Gilligan for the Democratic governor nomination and Donald Lukens for the Republican. Western County voters on May 5 approved the 1.85 mill vocational education levy for Oak Hills Three Rivers and parts of the region while the Southwest District failed. Oak Hills led with 6 839 to 5 125. Northwest bond issue and Cincinnati charter amendment passed by wide margins.
