Budde Post American Legion defeats Bentley Post 5-3 on Western Hills High field to claim the Fourth District title. The win, aided by a decisive ninth inning error, sets Budde up for the Ohio State Legion tournament in Athens starting August 11. Bentley suffers a second straight loss after a 6-1 Budde victory Sunday.

Price Hill Dems Seek Johnson Resignation for Bartlett Bid

Price Hill Woman Drowns In River Boating Mishap
Mary Palmisano, 26, of Price Hill, drowned when her 17 foot runabout ran out of gas and was struck by a barge on the Ohio River near Ludlow Kentucky. Her husband Joseph 30 Jerome Cain 25 and his wife Carol Ann 26 were aboard. Cain later reported gas tank swap and engine trouble. Divers searched unsuccessfully Monday as the towboat Alton Zephyr pushed the craft downstream and barge crew appeared unaware of the collision.

City Honors West Hills Chorus at Aug. 6 council meeting
The Southern Gateway Chorus of the Western Hills SPEBSQSA chapter will perform before Cincinnati Council at City Hall at 2 p.m. on Wednesday August 6. The council will present a resolution honoring the chorus for third place at the 1969 International finals in St Louis and wish it luck for the 1970 finals in Atlantic City. Mayor Eugene P. Ruehlmann, a former quartet singer, helped host regional contests in 1960 and previously honored the chorus in 1966.

Lt. Francis L. Heitker of the Cincinnati Police District Three in Price Hill received an invitation from J Edgar Hoover to attend the 84th FBI National Academy session starting August 18. Heitker will join officers from 44 states and international posts for a 12 week course to develop executives and instructors for law enforcement nationwide. The FBI notes 5535 alumni with 28 percent in top executive roles.

Two Delhi Residents Hurt In Auto Crash
Two Delhi residents were seriously injured Monday when their auto veered off Cleves-Warsaw pike and hit an embankment. Robert Ashley, 23, of Devils Backbone Road, allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and suffered a possible left ankle fracture. Edward Becker, 18, of Pedretti Road, had possible nose and jaw fractures. The Delhi Life Squad transported them to St. Francis Hospital. five additional emergency runs were also logged by the Delhi Squad.
