The Cincinnati Recreation Commission resumes its winter swim program at Western Hills High School pool from January 6 to April 1, 1970. The KDI Tomahawks Bantam squad from Cincinnati beat the Ontario Huskies 28-6 in Fontana to capture the national Pop Warner football championship. It marked a 13th straight win in an unbeaten season. Bob Sprague and Tony Jones each scored two touchdowns with long runs, as Sprague added 25 and 8 yard TDs and Jones 18 and 70 yard TDs. The team totaled a large scoring margin over the season.
