The Metropolitan Buick Women's softball team claimed the ASA Slow Pitch Metro tournament title and earned a spot to represent Cincinnati at the 1969 National Tournament in Chattanooga Tennessee over Labor Day weekend. They defeated Burger Beer 1 0 and 3 1 in a twin bill. The Metros allowed an average of two runs per game across six contests. Federal Color Nine Finishes Runner Up In AABC World Series
The Federal Color Cardinals Class B Muni baseball team returned to Cincinnati with the runners-up trophy from the AABC Mickey Mantle World Series in Dallas. They lost 3-0 to the Dallas Giants in the final, after beating Knoxville 9-3 earlier and eliminating Los Angeles 5-3. Tim Burman of Elder High provided a standout three hit performance, while Jim Bierman of Roger Bacon earned a 9-4 record with 12 strikeouts. The squad finished 65 wins and seven losses.
