Budde Post baseball heads to the American Legion Regional Tournament at Bowling Green Ohio facing Indiana State champions in the opener. Coach Dick Hauck’s club rode a 34 9 season mark after winning the Ohio State title with standout pitching from Day Moore Rothan Spille Troxell and Cook. The double elimination regional follows a strong state run that included a win over Bentley Post and a 5 1 record in the series.

A Price Hill woman and three others were injured in a two car crash at Glenway Ave and Rapid Run Pkwy at 6 26 p m last Wednesday Aug 13. Catherine Thomas 58 driver of one car suffered a mouth cut and bruises but no hospital transport. Howard Neal 53 driver of the other car cited for running a red light. Louise Neal 52 suffered a head cut. Myrtle O Harrah 68 Clyde O Harrah 55 also injured and taken to St Mary Hospital. Fire crews also responded to unrelated calls including a refrigerator incident and downed wires on Glenway Ave.

The Hamilton County Association of Township Trustees and Clerks met in Anderson Township under Chairman Elmer Hausfeld and voted to appoint a representative committee to negotiate with the Hamilton County Commissioners for repair of township fireplugs. If no agreement is reached, they will seek a writ of mandamus to force public duty performance. The prosecutor says maintenance lies with the Commissioners who say funds are unavailable. trustees claim law forbids them from repairing hydrants.

Burglars Hit West Eighth Street Twice And Fire Hits Café
On Wednesday August 13 two burglaries and a kitchen fire troubled West Eighth Street. The Hanover Building Association and Hartlaub Pharmacy were robbed while the Crow's Nest Cafe suffered a grease fire in the kitchen. The Hanover Savings Association on 4529 West Eighth Street saw its first safe crack, with $3 202 taken between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 30 a.m. Wednesday. Narcotics were stolen from Hartlaub Pharmacy at 4486 West Eighth Street along with 1 556 from the cash register in the same period. The Hartlaub theft was noticed by Harold Menz and the Hanover break in by mailman Art Mengers. Price Hill Engine Co 24 extinguished the kitchen blaze after two large roasts were placed in the oven.
