Navy Bombers Take Off in Mass Flight to Hawaii
Fifteen Navy patrol bombers from Patrol Squadron One departed San Diego Bay for a non-stop flight to Hawaii. The 105 officers and enlisted men were led by Lieut. Comdr. B. L. La Hache, who led the first bomber at 3:47 p.m. and the last at 4:01 p.m. The mass takeoff occurred without incident.
